Need to provide nuisance call trace information to the authorities?

Call Trace brings real-life security to a home or business by providing a way to trace obscene or threatening calls. Call Trace lets you act immediately after hanging up. Call Trace gets the details that authorities will need to track down the caller, such as when and from where the call originated.

To use Call Trace

  1. After receiving an obscene or threatening call, hang up the phone.
  2. Wait 10 seconds. Remember, the system traces the last incoming call. This include the number(s) associated with any call Waiting tones received.
  3. Pick up the receiver and listen for a dial tone.
  4. Dial “*57” (“1157” for rotary dial users). If the trace is successful, an announcement will give you the 800# to call if you wish to take legal action. You should write down the date and time of the call. This information will be needed to match the call to calling records.
  5. If the number could not be traced, you will receive an error announcement.
